About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Checking customer ID's and confirming they meet the legal entry requirements.
- Monitoring entry points and controlling access to the venue.
- Refusing entry to intoxicated, aggressive, or otherwise unsuitable individuals.
- Monitoring guest behaviour throughout the bar and identifying potential problems early.
- Calmly de-escalating disagreements, aggressive behaviour, and other disturbances.
- Safely escorting disruptive or aggressive guests from the premises when required.
- Using physical intervention only when necessary, reasonable, and permitted.
- Supporting bar staff with closing procedures.
- Preventing prohibited items from being brought onto the premises.
- Monitoring crowd numbers, entry queues, exits, and busy areas.
- Responding quickly to fights, threats, harassment, medical incidents, and emergencies.
- Contacting management, emergency services, or the police when required.
- Protecting guests, employees, property, and equipment from harm or damage.
- Completing incident reports and accurately recording refusals, removals, injuries, or other serious events.
- Communicating clearly with bar management, service staff, DJs, and other security personnel.
- Maintaining a calm, professional, fair, and respectful manner at all times.
Requirements
Available for part-time evening shifts, mainly Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
Previous security or crowd-control experience preferred.
Calm, confident, and able to handle conflict professionally.
Reliable, observant, and a good communicator.
Able to work well with bar staff and management.
